A dedicated, and very friendly, group of Insight meditation yogis have been practising at the Yoga to Go studios once a month on a Saturday afternoon since February 2018. This practice period is a combination of sitting and walking insight meditation.
Insight (or Vipassana) meditation practice encourages the development of understanding of what we experience mentally and physically through the application of mindfulness, the power of the mind to clearly observe penetratively and without judgement or reaction. Energy, concentration, stability and balance, stillness, peace and joy are some of the qualities that can accompany the practice and development of mindfulness. The practice ultimately aids skilful and intelligent living.

There is great benefit in practicing in the group and for extended periods, however if 3 hours seems a little lengthy please speak to Evelyn as the group is open to people newer to meditation coming and practicing for the first 45mins or 1.5 hours and then leaving quietly.
For those interested in learning insight meditation, the group’s main teacher Lynne Bousfield, will be running another beginner program on Friday evenings throughout July in Marrickville, culminating in a practice afternoon at Yoga to Go studio on Saturday 28th July.
